22.06.2022, 7. day, 37 / 686 km, Bad Säckingen

My tent is waterproof. It has rained almost the whole night, but it stops as we pack up.
We have breakfast in Lörrach, and then we go along the Wiese (that is the name of the river). But soon we have to ride uphill. To top it all off, it starts to rain, just a little at first, but it turns into a heavy downpour. We have to brake a lot on the steep way down to the Rhine River because it would be too dangerous otherwise. The rain only stops as we arrive in Bad Säckingen, and we are soaked.
The hotel is connected to a thermal bath which has a nice sauna area. It is free to use for hotel guests. We are familiar with this hotel and have stayed here during past ski trips. That is why we decided to stop here for the night.
We came early enough to experience all the sauna infusions of the day.
Tomorrow we will reach the mountains for real. It is at least 110km to Lake Sarnen, and we have to go through the Jura Mountains. Hopefully it does not rain.

Even without sunshine the area looks nice

But now it begins to rain

Downhill on wet roads

And once again the river Rhein
